create media with Click tracker and impression tracer
Hi There
I have been asked to start a campaign and I am not sure how to set
it up.
They have given me a link called a click Tracker and another called
Impression Tracer.
Is there a way i can set this up to use both links?

Hi,
You'll want to create a new media and select
Graphic Banner
for the media type. Under theMedia Attributes
section on that page you will see anImage URL
andRedirect URL
field. Copy the impression tracker into theImage URL
field and the click tracker into theRedirect URL
field. The rest of the fields you can leave with their default values.Once the media is created, make sure to click the preview link and verify that you can see and click on the banner and that it leads you to the advertisers site successfully. It's always important to do that when dealing with third-party tracking. Advertisers don't always bother to test things from their end, so it's good practice to check.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
Thanks. So I tried that and when I preview it works but when I try to save get this error.
The Image URL field must contain a valid HTTP(S) URL.
This is what I was given as the impression tracer.
<img style="width:1px; height:1px;" src="http://servedby.flashtalking.com/imp/4/34516;887938;201;pixel;BusinessAnalystTimes;BusinessAnalystTimeVenn300x2501x1/?cachebuster=[CACHEBUSTER]<http://servedby.flashtalking.com/imp/4/34516;887938;201;pixel;BusinessAnalystTimes;BusinessAnalystTimeVenn300x2501x1/?cachebuster=%5bCACHEBUSTER%5d>"/>
I also tried just pasting in the http… but then my preview was blank.

Hi Sandy,
Oh, I see what's going on here. I assumed that your advertiser had provided you with an impression serving tag that would actually display the ad. What they provided you is only an impression tracking pixel. Did they happen to also send you a GIF or JPG file for the banner? If they didn't they're going to need to provide you with that file. That file can be uploaded to the
Image URL
field instead of using the impression tracking pixel there.Where you'll want to put the impression tracking pixel is in the
View Tracking URL
field. It's located in theMedia Tracking
section at the very bottom of the page. You only want to use the http:// part rather than the whole<img>
tag that they sent you.Alternatively you might just want to ask them for Flashtalking serving tags like the ones shown here: http://www.advertserve.com/docs/latest/html/manual/thirdparty_flash...
Those can be set up more easily as HTML banners. You just take the code/tags they send you and copy/paste them into the
HTML Code
box. Our system recognizes Flashtalking tags, so it will automatically set up all of the cache busting and click tracking for you. Thanks,
Mike

They did send me this link. I just wasn’t sure what to do with it.

Oh, yes, that's the type of tag that I was talking about. You don't need to use the impression tracker or click tracker with it, so just ignore those. What you want to do is create a new
HTML Banner
media and simply copy/paste the tag in the box from http://www.flashtalking.net/v3/tags/885678.html into ourHTML Code
box. You don't need to mess with any of the settings on their tag pickup page. Our system will automatically do all of that for you.6 Posted by Sandy Fazaa on 25 Jun, 2014 07:41 PM
